Principal's Message
A Message from Robye Snyder, HCE Principal

I am honored to be the principal at Hunters Creek. I started my education career in Spring Branch ISD as a first grade student at Hollibrook Elementary. I attended grades 1-12 in Spring Branch and graduated from Memorial High School. My rich experiences in Spring Branch influenced my decision to become a teacher and a lifelong learner.
Following graduation from Texas A & M, I began teaching 3rd grade in Bryan ISD, moved to Katy ISD to teach first grade and, after being away for 12 years, returned to SBISD in 1987 as a reading specialist. Since returning to SBISD I have served at Ridgecrest, Cedar Brook, Meadow Wood and Hunters Creek. Before becoming a principal in 2006 at Meadow Wood, I have worked as a classroom teacher (Kindergarten, 1st grade and 3rd grade), reading specialist, Reading Recovery teacher, and assistant principal. I moved to Hunters Creek Elementary to begin the 2013-2014 school year after being Principal at Meadow Wood Elementary for 7 years.
I am an avid Aggie, holding a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A & M. I’ve attended and received further certifications from University of Houston, Houston Baptist University, St. Thomas University and graduated from Rice University's Educational Entrepreneurship Program in the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business in 2014.
I am most passionate about providing students and teachers challenging opportunities for learning and growth, academically and socially. I believe that, as the principal, I am the lead learner at HCE. I want all of us - administrators, teachers, support staff and children - to learn to their full potential. I strive to build strong relationships with the students, teachers, parents and community of Hunters Creek and to maintain HCE’s strong tradition of excellence.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. My beautiful granddaughter was born in August 2018. She, and her parents, live in Colorado so I try to get there a few times a year. Stop by anytime to see the photo gallery in my office as I’m a very proud grandmother!
