Information for Parents

The best inheritance a person can give to his children is a few minutes of his time each day.
--O. A. Battista

Activities at home are an important supplement to the classroom. Parents can provide activities and outings that enhance their child’s interests. They can also support the child as he/she reinforces skills taught in the classroom via homework and other assignments

Children who read, grow to love books. By reading aloud together (even after children learn to read by themselves), by being examples, and by doing other activities, parents are in a unique position to help children enjoy reading and see its value. Over the years, children will have memories of working with you to treasure. They will remember stories that made them laugh and stories that made them cry. They will remember sharing these times with someone they love.

Children learn all the time, not just at school. Find out more about how you can help your child to learn by browsing through some of the sites below. There are articles, tips, and advice from a variety of sources to help in many curriculum and interest areas. While helping your child, remember to provide a positive, safe, and supportive environment. Enjoy each other and learning together.
