We provide a variety of services for our resource students at Hunters Creek Elementary. Our services vary depending on the individual needs of the students. Two resource teachers and an aide work with the children at our campus. One teacher works exclusively with primary students ( K- 3 ), and the other teacher works exclusively with intermediate students (4-5). We also provide a self contained "Life Skills" class where seriously handicapped students are served by including them as much as possible in the regular classroom with supervision.

Students are served in the "Content Mastery Lab" where they can receive scheduled individualized assistance and small group instruction. All resource students are encouraged to use "drop in " services as well that are provided by both teachers and the aide who are available to assist students as difficulties arise.

Many of our students are a part of the "inclusion" model and stay in their regular classroom and are co-taught or monitored by the resource teachers. The teachers visit the classrooms at both specifically scheduled and "block" scheduled times where the classroom teachers and resource teachers work together using various teaching strategies.

We feel our wide range of services provide the students with skills and opportunities for success. The warm environment we offer encourages our students to have high expectations and strive for their personal best.
